USAA Limitless 2.5% Cashback Credit Card Review

usaa limitless credit card

The USAA Limitless 2.5% cashback credit card is one of the most rewarding cashback credit cards on the market. The USAA Limitless card offers 2.5% cashback on all purchases with no cap on the amount of cashback you can earn in a year with no annual fee. I consider this credit card one of the best non bonus spending credit cards on the market. The card also comes with great benefits like no foreign transaction fees, trip interruption/cancellation insurance, and baggage delay protection. The card unfortunately is only available to USAA members and does not come with a sign up bonus.usaa limitless rewards

The USAA Limitless credit card is currently in a pilot program and has only been released to 28 states. USAA has announced they are planning to roll the card out to more states in the future. All USAA products including the USAA Limitless cards are also only available to military members and their families. The card is available in the following states: AL, AR, AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, KS, LA, MD, MI, MN, MT, ND, NM, NV, NY, OR, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX and WA.

To qualify for the full 2.5% cashback, you do need to have a USAA checking account open with a minimum direct deposit of $1,000, though I suspect if you are considering the USAA Limitless card, you likely already have a USAA checking account. If you don’t have a USAA checking account, they offer two free checking account options which could be worth opening to earn 2.5% cash back in all purchases.

Competition to the USAA Limitless card?

There is only one other credit card on the market that offers more than 2.5% cashback, though it requires you to have over $100,000 in investments with the bank. Bank of America has the BankAmericard Travel Rewards, which offers 2.625% cashback when you have over $100,000 invested with them. Without the $100,000 in investments, the card only offers 1.5% cashback.

Only one other card offers 2.5% cashback, which is the Alliant Visa Signature Card, though it carries a $59 annual fee.

A couple cards on the market offer 3% cashback, though it expires after the first cardmember year. The Discover It Miles card and Alliant Visa Signature Cards offer 3% cashback in your first year, but after the first year they only offer 1.5% and 2.5% cashback, respectively.

For those who qualify for USAA products, the USAA Limitless 2.5% cashback credit card is definitely one to consider, especially for your non bonus spending. The card unfortunately does not come with a sign up bonus but with earning 2.5% cashback on all non bonus spend, it’s certainly makes up for the lack of a sign up bonus.

While this blog largely focuses on credit cards earning points rather than cashback, cashback cards certainly do have their advantages at times. For those who only want to carry one credit card or want to use credit card rewards where points can be used, I definitely think you should consider the USAA Limitless card.
